Musik Von Harmonia é o álbum de estreia do grupo de krautrock altamente influente Harmonia. Harmonia, era formado pelo guitarrista do Neu!, Michael Rother e o duo de música eletrônica Cluster, Hans-Joachim Roedelius e Dieter Moebius[1].

Faust - It's a Rainy Day (Sunshine Girl)
Die zunächst noch namenlose Gruppe traf auf den Musikjournalisten Uwe Nettelbeck, der ihnen einen Vertrag bei der Plattenfirma Polydor verschaffte. Polydor richtete in einer alten Dorfschule in Wümme ein Studio ein, in das die Band mit Nettelbeck und Toningenieur Kurt Graupner einzog. Dort entstanden die ersten beiden Alben (Faust und So Far) sowie Kollaborationen mit Slapp Happy (Sort Of, Acnalbasac Noom) und Tony Conrad (Outside the Dream Syndicate).
Der erste Liveauftritt im Herbst 1971 geriet durch technische Probleme zu einem spektakulären Happening; Meifert verließ daraufhin die Band.
Ende 1972 zog die Band mit Nettelbeck und Graupner nach England, wo sie von Richard Bransons Label Virgin Records unter Vertrag genommen wurde. Kurz darauf erschien The Faust Tapes, das zum damaligen Preis einer Single (49p) verkauft wurde. Die dadurch erreichte hohe Verkaufszahl übertrug sich allerdings nicht auf das nachfolgende Faust IV, und ein fünftes Album blieb unveröffentlicht. Danach verließ Wüsthoff die Band. Rudolf Sosna starb November 1996 .
Während der nächsten 15 Jahre blieb es still um die ehemaligen Bandmitglieder; es erschienen aber mehrere Veröffentlichungen mit Aufnahmen aus der Anfangszeit in Wümme sowie Ausschnitte aus dem fünften Album durch Chris Cutlers Recommended Records.
Péron, Diermaier und Irmler fanden sich schließlich im Jahr 1990 wieder für ein Konzert in Hamburg zusammen. 1992 folgte ein ausverkauftes Konzert in London. Péron und Diermaier gingen 1994 auf eine Tournee durch Europa und die USA. Während des Aufenthalts in den USA wurden sie von Steven Wray Lobdell unterstützt. In dieser Besetzung entstand auch ein neues Album, Rien.
Ein weiteres Album, You Know FaUSt, wurde 1996 in Schiphorst eingespielt. Es folgten Europatourneen. Péron verließ die Frankreich-Tour im Juni 1997, Irmler und Diermaier arbeiten mit verschiedenen Gastmusikern weiter. Es folgten weitere Konzerte, Livealben, eine Vertonung des Murnau-Klassikers Nosferatu und 1999 ein neues Album Ravvivando.

Johann Johannsson - Odi et amo
Icelandic composer, Jóhann Jóhannsson's first two solo records - Englabörn (2002) and Virthulegu Forsetar (2004) – were released by the singular British independent label, Touch. Despite limited promotional resources, both found plenty of receptive ears, receiving glowing reviews in music media around the world. Indeed, Virthulegu Forsetar found its way onto many critics' end-of-year lists.
While working on these albums, Jóhann was collaborating with the dancer and choreographer Erna Omarsdottir for several years, performing a dance piece called IBM 1401, A User's Manual in more than forty cities around Europe. When Jóhann signed to 4AD in 2005, he immediately set about reworking this music. Originally written for string quartet, organ and electronics, IBM 1401, A User's Manual (2006) was far more expansive in its recorded incarnation. A sixty-piece string orchestra was recorded at Prague's legendary Barrandov sound stage, and the four original movements were joined by a completely new finale. The final mix, which incorporates electronics and vintage reel-to-reel recordings of an IBM 1401 mainframe computer and its accompanying instruction manual, took place in Reykjavik at the beginning of 2006.
Following IBM 1401, A User's Manual, the November 2008 release of Fordlândia was the second in a proposed trilogy based on technology and iconic American brand names. Whereas IBM 1401, A User's Manual was a personal response to technology and its inevitable obsolescence, Fordlândia springs out of a far more diffuse set of influences. It brings together the soaring grandeur of its predecessor and the plangent intimacy of Englabörn, moving between heady, melting cadences and crystalline motifs with gorgeous, dreamlike logic.
After the success of IBM 1401, A User's Manual, Jóhann's collaboration with the internationally renowned choreographer and dancer Erna Omarsdottir continued in 2005 with a new piece entitled

Mysteries Of Love. Meanwhile, Jóhann was also producing and writing music with other artists, working with Marc Almond (on the Stranger Things album), Barry Adamson, Pan Sonic, The Hafler Trio, Jaki Liebezeit, Laetitia Sadier and many others.
Alongside all of this music making, Jóhann is a founder member of the Icelandic label / think tank / art collective Kitchen Motors, which specialises in instigating collaborations and art projects across diverse artforms.

Neu! - Hero
Para os nossos amigos da Alemanha e para os outros NEU!
O Neu! foi formado em 1971 em Düsseldorf como uma variação de uma das formações de outra banda de krautrock, Kraftwerk, cujos primeiros trabalhos também foram produzidos por Conny Plank.
O baterista Klaus Dinger reuniu-se ao Kraftwerk durante as sessões de gravação do álbum debut. O guitarrista Michael Rother foi então recrutado para a banda para o término do álbum. O fundador do Kraftwerk Ralf Hütter deixou a banda nesse momento, e por seis meses a bana consistia de Rother, Dinger e Florian Schneider, uma formação que apresentava-se esporadicamente e que realizava aparições na televisão no programa alemão Beat Club.
O primeiro e homônimo álbum foi lançado em 1972 e vendeu pouco, mas atualmente é citado por diversos artistas como uma referência. Já o segundo álbum Neu! 2 apresenta alguns dos primeiros exemplos de remixes. Empolgados para gravar outro álbum, os integrantes decidiram comprar diversos instrumentos musicais. Com o capital investido pela gravadora eles puderam gravar somente metade do material para um álbum. A empresa não queria aumentar a verba pois as vendas do primeiro álbum não haviam sido boas. Para preencher a falta de material, a banda compôs o segundo lado do álbum com versões manipuladas de seu compacto já lançado, "Neuschnee"/"Super". A canção "Super 16," tornou-se tema do filme de artes marciais de 1976 Master of the Flying Guillotine, de Jimmy Wang Yu. O filme foi posteriormente referenciado por Quentin Tarantino em Kill Bill, também apresentando a canção.
Dinger e Rother eram muito diferentes quando não criavam material juntos, o que influenciou o próximo álbum do grupo, Neu! '75. Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewis were members of the innovative and highly influential band Wire, whose three late 70s albums - Pink Flag, Chairs Missing and 154 - were a fertile and increasingly abstract voyage into the possibilities of the post-punk musical universe. By 1980, the band were on the brink of losing their record deal with EMI and were starting to fragment into separate recording units. Ivo, a big Wire fan, met Bruce and Graham at a Bauhaus show, where the pair offered 4AD some material they had been working on. Shortly afterwards, the Like This For Ages EP was released under the name Cupol, followed by the full-length album 3R4, credited simply to BC Gilbert/ G. Lewis. All of Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewis's 4AD material was subsequently collected on the 8 Time CD.

Pessoal este álbum foi o meu "abre latas com os heads" ouvido até à exaustão, interiorizado cada sucalco de vinil. O diálogo constante entre as guitarras de Byrne e Jerry, a simplecidade e actualidade das letras (todas elas de temas urbanos) traduzem-se num final num fino rendilhado como a New Wave nunca havia experimentado. Obrigatório

Kraftwerk - Radioactivitat ( German original 1976 full album)
O disco da semana. O álbum que mais vezes ouvi em toda a minha vida e o meu primeiro álbum. Deixo-vos aqui a versão integral desta obra prima da música que ainda hoje oiço como se fosse a primeira vez. Mais um disco 5 estrelas!

Um dos melhores discos de todos os tempos. Aqui as Preces já foram assistir, por duas vezes, a um concerto destes Senhores. Quem nunca foi vá! Porque não existe ninguém no actual panorama musical que os consiga substituir.

Hanni El Khatib - Come Alive
El Khatib is of Palestinian and Filipino descent. He grew up in San Francisco, where he became an avid skateboarder. He performed music on the side while working as creative director at skateboard fashion label HUF.[1]
In 2010 he released two singles on Innovative Leisure, a subsidiary of Stones Throw Records. His debut album, Will the Guns Come Out, was released on September 27, 2011. The album features eight original songs and three covers.
He describes his songs as being for anyone who has ever been shot or hit by a train. His musical style includes elements of garage rock, blues, and doo-wop.[2][3]
During live performances, El Khatib is accompanied by drummer Nicky Fleming-Yaryan, a friend from high school. They performed at the South by Southwest festival in March 2011, and at Bonnaroo in June 2011. They have opened for Florence and the Machine.[4]
His version of the Funkadelic song "I Got a Thing" was used by Nike in a high-profile television commercial.[5]

Colin Newman ~ Alone
Newman is a member of the rock band Wire. When the band temporarily split in 1980, Newman pursued a solo career. His first solo LP, A-Z, was released in 1980 on the Beggar's Banquet label. The album veered from extremely skewed pop to more mainstream numbers, such as "Order for Order", which was compared by some to Gary Numan. A track from the demos for this LP (but not included on the original vinyl release), "Not Me", was covered by This Mortal Coil on their It'll End In Tears LP. Newman's second LP, the entirely instrumental Provisionally Entitled The Singing Fish, in which all the tracks were titled for numbered fish, was released on the 4AD Records label in 1981. A third LP, Not To, which along with original compositions reworked a number of tracks originally written for Wire , was released in 1982 on 4AD.
Following this, Newman took a grant and travelled to India to collect sound recordings.
Wire reformed in 1984. In 1986 another solo LP, Commercial Suicide was released on the Crammed Discs label. A massive change in style for Newman, the album is reflective and highly orchestrated. His next LP, It Seems, followed a similar path, albeit with far more use of sequencers — something Newman would continue to work with for a number of years. Both Crammed albums featured Malka Spigel who has been included in all subsequent solo & collaborative work.
Newman's only other de-facto solo outing was the mid-1990s release Bastard, an almost entirely instrumental release with tracks largely built from guitar loops and samples. Released on his own label, Swim ~ , the first pressing of the album was packaged with a free copy of Newman's four track Voice EP. Despite Newman's name being on the cover, he says these releases, along with several others on Swim ~, are essentially collaborative efforts with wife, and musical partner, Malka Spigel. Therefore, Spigel's albums and the pair's releases under the name Immersion could to some extent be considered Newman "solo" efforts as well (see discography).
Colin Newman's song "Alone" made an appearance in the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs in a scene in which the character Buffalo Bill is sewing in a basement. This song was also covered by This Mortal Coil on their Filigree & Shadow LP.
Newman has produced, arranged and mixed various other artists. These include Virgin Prunes, Minimal Compact, Alain Bashung, Silo & Lobe on the production and arrangement side and Hawkwind, Dead Man Ray, Fennesz, Polysics and Celebricide on the mix side. He has also mixed all new Wire releases since 2000.
Since 2004, Newman has worked with Githead, a quartet composed of Newman and long-time collaborator Malka Spigel, as well as Max Franken and Robin Rimbaud.[citation needed] Colin Newman is also a director of PostEverything & runs the Pinkflag label for Wire.
