Gentle Giant - Raconteur Troubadour

Gentle Giant were a British progressive rock band active between 1970 and 1980. The band was known for the complexity and sophistication of its music and for the varied musical skills of its members. All of the band members, except the first two drummers, were multi-instrumentalists. Although not commercially successful[citation needed], they did achieve a cult following.
The band's onetime stated aim was to "expand the frontiers of contemporary popular music at the risk of becoming very unpopular,"[1] although this stance was to alter significantly with time. While never achieving the commercial heights of progressive rock contemporaries such as Jethro TullGenesisYes or Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Gentle Giant was considered to be one of the most experimental bands in the genre (as well as one of the most experimental rock bands of the 1970s).[citation needed]
Gentle Giant's music was considered complex even by progressive rock standards, drawing on a broad swathe of music including folk, soul, jazz, and classical music. Unlike many of their progressive rock contemporaries, their "classical" influences ranged beyond the Romantic and incorporated mediaevalbaroque, and modernist chamber music elements. The band also had a taste for broad themes for their lyrics, drawing inspiration not only from personal events but from philosophy and the works of both François Rabelais and R. D. Laing.

SCOTT MATTHEW - White Horse

Scott Matthew (occasionally credited as Scotty Matthew) is a vocalist and lyricist born in QueenslandAustralia. He currently resides and performs as an independent artist in New York City.
Scott Matthew was a member of the alt pop band Elva Snow, which he co-founded with ex-Morrissey member Spencer Cobrin. Two songs from their self-titled debut album, which boasted Matthew on vocals and Cobrin on drums, piano, guitar and composition, were included in feature film soundtracks; “Hold Me” was featured in 2004's The Last Run, directed by Jonathan Segal and starring Fred Savage, and “Could Ya” made an appearance in the 2005 film Splinter, directed by Kai Maurer. After the dissolution of Elva Snow, Matthew performed with the band Songs to Drink and Drive By under the free-base mp3 label Comfortstand.
Scott Matthew is perhaps best known to the public for his vocal contributions to the soundtracks of the anime series Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex and the anime film Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door, both produced by composer Yoko Kanno, among whose fans he is very well-received as one of several faithful vocal collaborators. His performance of the alt-rock song "Lithium Flower", featured as the ending song for season one of Stand Alone Complex, garnered him national exposure in Japan as well as the United States when the show was aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block. Matthew also wrote the lyrics to "Go Where No One's Gone Before", the main theme for the anime series L/R: Licensed by Royalty performed by Billy Preston.
Matthew recently received additional exposure as a result of his contributions to the original soundtrack of John Cameron Mitchell's dark sexual comedy Shortbus. The soundtrack includes six of Matthew's songs.
Scott Matthew's vocals have been described as warm, sultry and a little androgynous.[citation needed] Aside from singing, he has also exhibited notable talent playing the ukulele and the guitar.

Tram - A Kind of Closure

GNR - Freud & Ana

Mão morta/Mãe morta
Vai bater aquela porta
“Que se lixe quem não dança”
(disse Carl Jung)
É o seculo XX/
É o sexo vintage
A nossa doença, a nossa militância
É há cá quem sofra de complexos
E quem se queixe de SIDA
Mesmo de novas misturas
Em casais de pombos
E há cada vez mais novos combos
E até electro-choques
(Insulina a rodos) e outros mentais retoques
Querida
Apareces-me em sonhos
Com penas de gato e muita comida
Que não te falte nada
Mesmo assim vestida
A tua líbido é mistura
De desejo e bebida
Como a cabeça do bispo
Tu comes a cabeça da dama
Vendo-te o “cavalo”
Empresto-te a torre
Mas quero saber quem me ataca
atropelo um peão
Juro que ele não morre
Baby eu sei que ele não sente
Liebschen ele nem trabalha
Não come não sente
Já não se lembra quem é…
E o luar é tão cândido
E eu e tu Ana tudo é pureza e limpeza

Terry Riley - A Rainbow in Curved Air

Born in Colfax, California, Riley studied at Shasta CollegeSan Francisco State University, and the San Francisco Conservatory before earning an MA in composition at the University of California, Berkeley, studying with Seymour Shifrin and Robert Erickson. He was involved in the experimental San Francisco Tape Music Center working with Morton SubotnickSteve ReichPauline Oliveros, and Ramon Sender. His most influential teacher, however, was Pandit Pran Nath (1918–1996), a master of Indian classical voice, who also taught La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela. Riley made numerous trips to India over the course of their association to study and to accompany him on tabla, tambura, and voice. Throughout the 1960s he traveled frequently around Europe as well, taking in musical influences and supporting himself by playing in piano bars, until he joined the Mills College faculty in 1971 to teach Indian classical music. Riley was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Music at Chapman University in 2007.
Riley also cites John Cage and "the really great chamber music groups of John Coltrane and Miles DavisCharles MingusBill Evans, andGil Evans" as influences on his work,[2] demonstrating how he pulled together strands of Eastern music, the Western avant-garde, and jazz.
Also during the 1960s were the famous "All-Night Concerts", during which Riley performed mostly improvised music from evening until sunrise, using an old organ harmonium ("with a vacuum cleaner motor blower blowing into the ballasts") and tape-delayed saxophone. When he finally wanted a break, after hours of playing, he played back looped saxophone fragments recorded throughout the evening. For several years he continued to put on these concerts, to which people came with sleeping bags, hammocks, and their whole families.[citation needed]
Riley began his long-lasting association with the Kronos Quartet when he met founder David Harrington while at Mills. Over the course of his career, Riley composed 13 string quartets for the ensemble, in addition to other works. He wrote his first orchestral piece, Jade Palace, in 1991, and has continued to pursue that avenue, with several commissioned orchestral compositions following. Riley is also currently performing and teaching both as an Indian raga vocalist and as a solo pianist.
He has a son named Gyan Riley, who is a guitarist.[3] Riley still performs live. He has been chosen by Animal Collective to perform at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival that they will curate in May 2011.[4]

John Cale - Changes Made

When the winter days are gone
Never find any summer breezes
Until you've gone through spring
Another way out of here
Another way out of here
Another way
Another way out of here

Cause I'm a lofty man
I'm a hungry man
Gonna be, gonna be, gonna be, gonna be some changes made round here
Another way
Another way out of here
Cause I'm a man who lives
Lives inside me

The children's caravan
moving slowly hand in hand
Knowing all it takes
Is a kind word
Is a kind word
Is a kind word
Ahhhhhhhh.......
Gonna be, gonna be, gonna be, gonna, gonna be some changes
There gonna be some changes
There gonna be some changes
There gonna be some changes
Gonna be a change

There gonna be some changes
There gonna be some changes
There gonna be some changes
There gonna be some changes made
There gonna be some changes made
There gonna be some changes made

Not to touch the earth
Not to see the sun
Nothing left to do, but
Run, run, run
Let's run
Let's run

House upon the hill
Moon is lying still
Shadows of the trees
Witnessing the wild breeze
C'mon baby run with me
Let's run

Run with me
Run with me
Run with me
Let's run

The mansion is warm, at the top of the hill
Rich are the rooms and the comforts there
Red are the arms of luxuriant chairs
And you won't know a thing till you get inside

Dead president's corpse in the driver's car
The engine runs on glue and tar
Come on along, not goin' very far
To the East to meet the Czar

Run with me
Run with me
Run with me
Let's run

Whoa!

Some outlaws lived by the side of a lake
The minister's daughter's in love with the snake
Who lives in a well by the side of the road
Wake up, girl, we're almost home

Ya, c'mon!

We should see the gates by mornin'
We should be inside the evenin'

Sun, sun, sun
Burn, burn, burn
Soon, soon, soon
Moon, moon, moon
I will get you
Soon!
Soon!
Soon!

I am the Lizard King
I can do anything

The Smiths - Meat Is Murder

Today is the day...

A PAIXÃO PASCAL E O BANHO:

A PAIXÃO PASCAL E O BANHO:
